power folding tow mirrors (anybody have them on their truck?)

so called 3 dealers today and all 3 told me you cannot get power fold tow mirrors? anybody have them to debunk this? none of the 3 seemed 100% certain but all said the same thing. and tow mirrors are backordered until march

I have them on my 18 power wagon. It's got the leather and luxury package and the power folding tow mirrors.

You need to get the proper door module and programming. And change the driver door switch.

i already have power fold mirrors but mine are the standard and not the tow. so i shouldn't need any modules or switches then? But interesting that 2 dealers told me you could not get the power fold tow mirrors

I have a 2015 RAM 3500 DRW 4WD Laramie Longhorn. It was factory equipped with heated, power-folding tow mirrors. The mirror heads manually rotate 90 degrees for extra width when towing. The folding function is remote and controlled by a button on the driver's armrest. Can't remember if it was a separate option or part of a package. The power-folding feature is very useful when backing and maneuvering into tight spaces.

I just looked online and even the major online parts dealers are out of stock. Says they are back ordered.

Maybe try a junk yard or ebay?

assume you are trying to add them to your existing truck, not option them on a new truck?

A 2019 Ram 1500 does not have power fold tow mirrors. The tow mirrors also delete surround view cameras

Biggest blunder of the 5th Gen.

2019 HD does have power fold and surround view cameras

I have a 2500 outdoorsman tow package but just standard mirrors pwr folding directionals and puddle light ordered tow mirrors on Amazon took me an hour and installed both works great

yeah me and my son have identical trucks. both 2018 2500 6.4's but we both have the standard mirrors but they do have turn signal, puddle lights and power folding. he will be getting the tow mirrors ASAP but i'm not in as big of a hurry. our trucks already have power fold and have the button on the armrest. just would like to get the tow mirrors with the power fold too. he is in North Dakota and towed hid camper out there 1500 miles with the standard mirrors and wants to have tow mirrors on it before he comes back.

It's beyond me why any of the HD trucks come with standard mirrors from the factory? They should all have tow mirrors, that's what these trucks were made for.

^ yep. said that to the dealers i have talked to today.

just called another dealer in Michigan that has a set on the shelf but he said he would not sell them. and nobody knows if they are power folding or not and said as far as they can tell you can't get them power folding after the fact, only from the factory. so might be waiting until Trail Ridge has them back in stock

I dont know too much about it but I will try to get a oem used from ebay and try it. I dont see why they cant work.

In my case I will need new modules and new mirrors. I have tow mirrors but I dont like them. I want to replace them for the regular ones with folding funtions and lights.

Have them now for about 6 months. Started with power adjust and heated and upgraded to power fold tow. I needed new door module, Door switch and purchased trail ridge mirrors. Once all the hardware was done I used Alpha OBD to turn it all on. Truck is a 2015 Big Horn. Almost forgot- Support brackets for the bigger mirrors

I have "power Chrome Trailer Tow Mirrors w/power Fold-Away.
This means the mirrors will fold flat against the truck, but I have to manually move the mirrors for horizontal (non-tow) to the vertical (tow) position. interestingly enough, if I hit the seat/mirror recall button, it will properly adjust the mirrors for either position.

Yep. Those are the memory mirrors.

My son ended up ordering the Trail Ridge mirrors from 1A Auto. His company actually ordered them through NAPA but they are from 1A. Should have them sometime this week. He still needs to order the support brackets and the riv-nuts

Do you mean the 1500 classic? Because the fifth gen absolutely has surround view cameras.

A 2019 Ram 1500 5th Gen DT absolutely does not have surround view cameras on tow mirrors.

The 2019 Classic has no surround view offered as it is new for 2019 DT.

The standard mirrors do have power fold and surround view on Laramie, Longhorn, and Limited only.
