You are correct. I thought the front one was selectable also. My apologies.

Since the front can't be switched to constant power and you don't have a rear one, why don't you just add an extra one with a fused lead from your battery? ⚡

As far as your Uconnect, I wouldn't begin to know how to convert that to constant power as you are then dealing with Can-Bus issues. I don't have Uconnect, but I have my Garmin on constant power. Whenever I bring my smart phone into my truck, it automatically connects. I would think that your phone would connect when your Uconnect powers up.

2014 Crew Cab Express. My truck always has a 12v "on", It; is on the dash, right side, near the bottom, pretty much across form my gear selector knob.

I leave my phone cord plugged into. The Cords little red light is on, whether the truck is running or not, key in it or not. Have no idea what is in teh back seat.

Imagine it would not be too difficult to run a new 12ga wire, direct form battery, to wherever you want a plug. Never thought of doing it, myself, when I had my interior out for soudn dampening but I do know ripping the interior is not that big a deal.

No prob, Bud.

Thanks to all for your help. Sounds like I'll have to run an aux. outlet from an always hot circuit.

A last note for those who care:

Finally took the truck to the dealership to check on recalls, current computer flash and a couple other things. I asked about making the front outlet hot all the time and was told you can't do that.

I also had them check the outlet in the center console since it didn't work at all. I figured it was a blown fuse but I was wrong. There was no fuse! The tech put one in and I found out it is hot even with the key off . Now all I have to do is fine that wire and add an aftermarket outlet.:)

Yes, bought it, new.

Did some searching around and here is what I found out about this power issue thing.

Are you all ready to feel, as Stupid, as I did, when I read this and went out to look, at my truck?

Okay here goes.

Look at the COVER, for your 12V connection.

If it has a KEY symbol, it is only HOT with the key.
If it has a BATTERY symbol. it is hot, all the time.

OH yeah, me so smart. Mien is on side of the dash, under the radio, directly below that cubbie hole thing. Battery Symbol on its cover and hot all the time.

rear outlets are only available with crews with a center console I thought. Where would the mount a rear outlet with the jump seat in the middle??
