Hello all,

I am trying to confirm that that power wagon suspension is 2" higher than the 2500'.

I believe this is due to the softer taller springs.

Can anyone confirm?

Thanks

I think it matters what trim of 2500 you are looking at. The 2024 Big Horn is listed at 80.2 inches tall and the PW at 80.9 inches. You are correct on the springs, they are different to make off road use a better ride but at the expense of payload and towing capacity. They are cool looking, wish I could have bought that trim when I got my truck, but needed the cargo carrying capacity. Oh well.

The overall height is a combination of springs and taller tires, the springs alone (the lift) is only about 1" greater then a non-PW. It does not come with a 2" lift if that is what you are asking

Thanks.
I've seen older posts that saying the same.
I noticed on my pw the rear bump stop has a 1" spacer and the front a 1.5" spacer when installing summo springs.

Stock 2500 don't according to Mopar parts diagram.

Everything I have read since owning a PW for 5 years was that the front is 1.5"-2" taller and the rear about 1" taller than the average normal 2500 Hemi. Visually a PW looks like a 2500 with a front leveling kit (typically that height range). Every stock PW I have seen on a dealer lot looks obviously taller than the regular 2500's parked next to them. And that's just not the tires either. The spring rates of a PW are also well known and documented to be softer than a regular 2500. That is the main reason the payload/GVWR and towing capacity is a good bit lower on a PW. The above posts are probably the first time I ever heard somebody claim there is less lift than that, and of course the people making those claims do not own a PW.
If you look on the Thuren Fabrication webpage (if you don't know, this is one of the "big names" in Ram suspensions) they list the exact same front lift coil part number as being 3" of lift on a regular 2500 but only 1.5" lift on a PW. So the math on this also corresponds with the PW being about 1.5" taller stock on average in the front. In regards to spring rate, the site states these coils are 26-30% softer on a regular 2500 but are 6% stiffer on a PW. The math would mean that the factory PW front springs are 30+% softer than a regular 2500.
For the rear, they list the exact same part number rear coils as being a 1" lift on a regular 2500 but stock height on a PW. Again, the math would mean that the PW is about 1" taller in the rear.
There is also a Power Wagon specific page on this forum. That would be a good place to post this question, but guarantee every response will be that the PW does sit higher and has lower spring rates.

It's embarrassing for you to assume.... My comment was made as a (former) PW owner.

Just to throw another wrinkle into the discussion, the 2500 also comes with an Off road package, which makes the standard 2500 taller and different shocks. I have the OR package on my 2021 long box. I don't know if the spring rates are different than the stock 2500.

I’ve not owned a PW but did own a 2500 with the OR package.

My 2500 w/ OR package rode like a buck board unloaded.
My neighbor’s PW rode like a 1500.

Both could get into your standard 7’ parking garage or Taco Bell drive through….

So, do you currently own a PW?
Can you not read?? What's the difference if I owned one today or I owned one yesterday? Does that make my comment invalid because it is not sitting in my driveway right this second?

LOL, give me a break...

I have that package on my 2500 LB, guess it does seem a bit higher.

I'm trying to understand why this matters.

ALL 4th gen and later Ram 2500s will take larger tires (specifically 35s) on OEM sized wheels without issue......

Or are you trying to compare the length of your johnson rods? (which is completely useless anyways).....

Installed the summo springs and the instructions had no mention of the stock bump stop spacers on the pw and or packages.

I sent supersprings support an email regarding the Ram pw and off road packages information so that they could note it in their system.
