To this day I would take a Power Wagon over any other truck on the market. I could have bought one many times but just could not justify having that beast and not using it properly.

Maybe when I retire :)

The TRX is the ultimate package IMO. It would be the dodge version of the raptor with a Hellcat motor. Leave it to dodge lol. If I were to look for a truck that would meet my day to day, it would be a power wagon as well. The TRX seems to be a mix between a great offroad truck and a hellcat Ram.

It really depends on how you would use the truck. Slow trails with rocky terrain, I rather be in the PW. Fast trails or in the dunes I rather be in the TRX.

Closest comparison I can personally attest to is that I have owned both a 17 Power Wagon and a 12 Raptor. Off roaded both. There is plenty of things the PW does better than the Raptor and there is plenty things the Raptor will do better. All depends on how you will use it. The TRX being similar to the gen1 Raptor but obviously more power, newer tech, better suspension, etc....

I would love to hear the comparison - since you have owned both. In general no pressure. I am a Metro-Jethro kind of truck guy at this point. I have a 2020 Limited. I use my truck as it should be for the Bed to haul crap, the towing capability with my travel trailer and the "luxury" of taking it on a road trip including to the grocery store <--- meaning this is my " sedan and truck"

My personal experience is, not so much rock crawling but mountainous. Just getting to the top and back down.

Secondary is Beach, but Wrangler and Mercedes have that covered VERY well.

I have a 2020 pw i would pick a new raptor over it any day if they were priced the same. I would also pick a trx over it if priced the same but they are not. I paid $50000 for my pw new the end of august 2020. I could not touch a trx or raptor for that.

I go off-roading almost every weekend. Jeep and my Rebel.
A lot depends what you think off-roading is or the area.
I'd driven TRX, Raptor, PW, Rebel, and bunch different Jeeps.
Places I go, of course Jeeps were best. TRX/Raptor were basically tied , PW and then Rebel.

Biggest issue, with PW in my view. It's very heavy.
Places we've taken TRX/Raptor/Jeeps, the PW would just cry.
I would disagree with Nick on the PW being better with rocks, isn't even close in my view. But we all have different experiences.

Having both a PW and JL, the PW is the Jeep recovery vehicle. It’s doesn’t cry going down Jeep trails, I may but it doesn’t.

TRX and Raptor is just a dune runner/street crawler.

I can say I have up rooted trees with the PW.

Raptor and TRX is in a different class with all the different mode options.

PW and JL have two mode options 4x4 or no 4x4. Skill is not an option.

The PW is very cable with its lockers and suspension setup but it is geared more toward slower off roading. Its like a big jeep wrangler essentially. Where the Raptor is designed for faster off roading. It really depends on the type of off roading you do to determine which one is "better". With the aftermarket you can make either do what the other can for the most part. The one major disadvantage for the PW off road is size and weight.

For daily driving the Raptor had a better ride overall. both had about the same mpg which was about 12 mpg. the 17 PW came with the 6speed which i hated the 2nd gear ration, felt the 1 - 2 ratios were too far apart so the Raptor gets the nod there too. PW had nicer interior and better tech which it should, being 5 years newer although the front camera and upfitter switches in the Raptor where a big plus. Loved the big size of the PW for daily use, smaller size of the Raptor was better off road. PW was better in snow even on the road without using lockers. Raptor did have more "wow" factor. Got more looks, compliments, and questions in that over the PW.

If you have any specific questions, let me know.

MY PW is overkill for anything I'm likely to do with it offroading...
The TRX would be wasted on me for everything but dyno drags...

Yea but sometimes it is/would be just fun knowing you had over 700hp on tap. I would rarely if ever need but sure would love having it. both raptor and trx are out of my price range so i guess i am stuck with my pw for now…..

Yeah 700 HP would be awesome once in a while but not for the added $30k...
Plus I need my driver's license to get to work and I'm sure a TRX would cost me mine pretty quick!

Well once you drive a TRX, then you'll know why people want it. I have a 2021 TRX and a 2022 power wagon on order. Totally different trucks and are for different uses. I also have a 02 taco that is built for the rocks and slow trails where only Jeeps and little Toyota's can go unless you want body damage. There are things I do not like about the TRX(oil changes every 3,500 to 4,000 miles and the heavy front end do to the hellcat(can be fixed with suspension upgrade)), but I can live with it. I buying the PW due to the crazy gas prices(6 to 10 MPG on the TRX with the small gas tank), crazy oil changes(no one seems to talk about that one), replace my spare truck and the fact that I don't want to beat up the bed of the TRX since I use the truck bed daily.

Most recommend early oil changes on the 6.4 as well

I traded a 2015 heavily modded Power Wagon for my TRX. The PW had a Thuren level kit (King 2.5 dual res shocks) 37”s, HD steel bumpers (front was single welded piece police push bumper). Roof rack, light bars, Diamondback HD tonneau, bed slide, ARB compressor, AFE air box, Dethlof skid, tuner and many more mods. I am just getting started with the TRX….

The Power Wagon can go more places than a Raptor or a TRX. That said, 98% of people owning any of them will never go to those places. I have been in a few Raptors, and the TRX is way more comfortable, more powerful, easier to drive, and has a far better suspension system. I think the Power Wagon was better than the Raptor for anywhere but mall parking lots and California desert dunes. A Rubicon Wrangler will get you anywhere and then some of all the trucks, but you will not be able to bring much with you. The Jeep ( except the 392) and Power Wagon, will be slower. The TRX will be the fastest of the lot, but will also run out of gas fastest….

The TRX is the best all around package for on-road/off road (awesome in the snow), comfort, speed, tow/haul, sound, and technology. It will not go where the Power Wagon and Rubicon can. It will go anywhere a Raptor can (Stock vs stock). Of course you know what opinions are worth…….
