Bill, I like your explanation better than mine. Chip is different, a chip is more like a tuner as it usually provides a different fuel/timing table. IMO, Don't use one on a Ram, stick with hand tuners..

Has anyone used the power wire with the Super chips performance tune?
I thought the O2 sensors would eventually over-rule the power wire mod once the engine reached operating temperature and the fuel trims had been re-calibrated after the PCM reset. The only time the power wire would continue to fool the PCM to add more fuel would be when the engine is still warming up to normal operating temps and at WOT. I didn't think there would be any other performance increase during normal operating temps. Am I wrong about this?

this might sound stupid but why not just extend the same wires and mount the IAT further down the intake closer to the filter where the air is denser??
this have the same effect on a 2nd gen?
