Power wire?

What's this power wire I hear everybody talking about adding to their truck that supposedly gives better throttle response and mpg?

Can someone explain in detail what it does and how to do it?

Its tricks the IAT sensor into thinking that the outside air is 20* cooler than it really is. This in turn gives it more fuel, so I dont understand the better mileage claims. I used to run one myself, but never saw the advertised gains form it. Its cheap enough that it is worth trying, but I wouldnt expect huge gains form it.

Ahh ok thanks for the clarification. Doesn't sound like something I'm going to mess with. I'll stick with adding bolt ons for performance gains lol

I run one, never have seen any gains, I often forget I even have it LOL

i had one for a short time on my 05. It give a little detectable difference in throttle response, since you have a 2009 a tuner would be a much better investment

Superchips tuner is on my list. From what I've read, top power setting gives you 60hp

I took my first trip with my Superchips Flashpaq on the 93 Performance setting. I could definitely tell a difference but not sure if it was 60 hp worth. On the plus side, I did get better MPG though. +1 MPG on the 93 tune with 93 octane gas and +2 MPG with the Mileage tune and 87 octane gas. Very happy with my purchase.

I run my power wire only to keep my engine from running too lean. I dont feel too much from it. But i could tell it worked better for the top end.
