I bought my 2007 Dodge Quad Cab 4x4 last year. I took it thru inspection and it failed because check engine light was on and the code said it was the gas cap. I replaced the gas cap and tried to take it back thru inspection and the battery went dead in line. I had my wife bring me another battery and the inspection agents said I couldnt bring it thru right now due to the fact I had just changed the battery and it has to be driven for awhile or it will fail again. I have never heard of this. Is this true? The problem is the sticker is way over due and I cant drive it on the road if the computer has to re adjust. How long or many miles
does it take to reprogram? Thanks Confused in NJ.

It may take a few key cycles and/or miles for the I/m sensors to be in a readiness state. There is a key ignition procedure in your manaul that can tell you if they are ready or not.
