Just bought a new RAM 1500 Express with the Black out package. I'm so excited. Been looking at trucks lately and everything told me to get this one. When I drove it and felt the ride, I knew it was the truck I was getting.

Hoping to meet some new people and new connections to the RAM world.

Am I an Audio Guy?? I'm glad you asked
I live and breathe car audio. I'm MESA(Mobile Electronic School Assoc.)certified in car audio and car security.
I always wanted to open my own shop one day. It's just not in my plans right now. Before my new career, I used to do home theater and home automation. We would tie all your electronics in your house to one remote system and even your Iphone to control away from home or at the convenience of your couch or bed. So yeah, liking car audio and home audio is an understatement for me.

I will surely be upgrading my audio system in the near future. I think I seen the new 2014's come with a 180A alternator? I remember in the BMW I had the wire harness for the speakers was not behind the head unit. The signal was sent to a amplifier in the trunk and I had to tap into it from there. I wonder if these new RAM's are the same. Can someone chime in on it for me? Much appreciated..

Geeeeezzzzz. And that's what I had too!!! Some Orion XTR's. I'd say 5 years ago I had bought some Orion HP's, I was impressed with those too. Ever since Orion was bought out by directed audio they went downhill. Take a guess as to where I got my Screen Name from. haha. Yes I agree, they were amazing. But I will admit, with the technology advancing there are better subs out there now. Look into DC Audio and Sundown Subs. Even the 8"s are impressive. DC Audio's amplifiers put out insane amounts of power. Their 9K watt puts out about 15K watts RMS at 18v. Im going to try and stick 2-4 Sundowns in my truck.

Always good to have another audio head on the forum ;-) I got my first Orion XTR like 17 or 18 years ago. It was the first time I saw a DVC sub. I was pretty disappointed when I first hooked it up. Took me a while to realize that I was only powering half the sub :doh: I have just got back into car audio after taking a 8 year hiatus and man have I missed a ton.... But it feels good to be back ;-)

As for Rams having amps... I know the 'alpine' system does. It really limits your options if you want to keep the factory HU. I know in my truck there is not a single speaker that gets a full range signal. Thankfully every factory design has a workaround.. LOL!

I almost bought the same truck. Crazy awesome looking but I went for a big horn.
