I have a daughter on the way so this December I bought the crew cab. So far the space in the back has been very useful with hauling groceries and miscellaneous stuff I don't want to carry in the bed.

I traded in my quad cab to get the crew cab as I have two car seats and I would never go back to a quad, you have room and more even with the seats in back, In my quad cab you had to have both seats quite a ways up to fit the seats in back.

A Quad Cab is probably more than adequate, but a Crew Cab is so much better. Don't set yourself up for regret/disappointment. Go with the Crew. It will be worth it.

I can't deal with a 5.7 bed.

The CC with the 6.4 bed would be an upgrade for me tho.

I choose my quad cab as I like the look better, and I need the extra bed space for work...

I always thought the crew cabs looked silly with the smaller beds, sort of strange proportions.

And once you throw a tool box in, it really looks small, it all depends on what you plan to do with the truck, really.

But, they now offer the 6.4 bed in CC, so that's my next upgrade.

I have always thought that as well, I just wish they offered a full 6'6" bed instead of a 6'4" bed, when hauling a quad it makes it easier to shut the tailgate. When I load mine in I can just barely shut the tailgate. Granted a sportsman sized atv won't fit in anything but a 8' bed but still.

CC for sure if you can budget it.
I would take your car seat in and put in both trucks first. See the difference, decide with future 5 years in mind.
My 9,10 and 14 year old ride backseat and 6'1 and my seat is all the way back. Still plenty of room for all to move around while not disturbing my wife and I on a long drive. Not so far back I can't snatch my 14 year old son when he gets smart with us..lol
