Seems that quality and customer service must be a thing of the past. Purchased a new compact table saw from Lowe's yesterday. Unboxed it and got it all setup, then noticed a large lump in the table surface. May not be that big of a deal, but it is right beside the blade. Would have to imagine this would effect the quality of the cuts. Besides that its like a new truck. If its gonna have dings and dents in it, I want to be the one responsible.

Called Dewalt Cust service. They gave me two options. Return to store or send back to a service center for repair. I cant go that long without a jobsite saw so that option is out. So guess i'll spend my time getting this boxed back up and driving another 30 mins to the store and back, then unpack and setup another one. That is if I buy Dewalt again????

I get it, this will happen on new items from time to time. I guess the frustration is that I think they should offer you something for your time and trouble. Promo code, gift card, t-shirt, keychain..anything.

Oh well, lesson learned. I will be unpacking things like this in the parking lot from now on to inspect.

I buy items like this from Lowe's or Home Depot so that if there is a problem I can return it and get a refund. It is unrealistic to think that you can buy a perfect product with zero manufacturing defects at the low end of the spectrum.

Think about all the people who have paid $50,000 or more for a brand new car or truck and quickly start having problems that require leaving them at the dealer for the day or a week or longer. Now that is worth getting upset about.

For what its worth, those are amazing little table saws. Plenty of power and cut grist once you get it setup properly

I have the same saw. came out of the box, perfect. I then dropped it off the work stand halfway through a job. picked it back up, checked blade alignment, it was fine. I broke a bracket on the fence but otherwise, 5 years later, keeps running.

I'd have to say, your saw is a one off flaw. not sure if that would mandate compensation for your time. things happen in life, as long as black and decker or dewalt is willing to make it right, I think that's about as much as you can expect. sometimes, major well known manufacturers don't seem to care and won't make it right, eg: search ram 2500 drag link recall.
