I was looking at a JBL 4505 5 channel amp at Crutchfield, and have a question for the experienced here. My standard 6 speaker setup has no output to a sub, so the only inputs to the amp would be the speaker wires. My question is this: given all the ways to set up this amp, if I used the low pass filters properly would the output to a sub work without the inputs from the head unit?

Looking at that amp, it has separate front, rear, and sub inputs. There’s a switch on the sub channel input for internal or external. That may allow that channel to use the front inputs as its signal source. You should call either JBL or maybe Crutchfield to confirm.

According to the manual, the amp had a sub inpu selection switch.

Select INT if you’re connecting a subwoofer to the Club-4505 amplifier, but your source unit does not feature a subwoofer output (this will send a summed audio signal to the subwoofer). If your source unit does feature a subwoofer output, select EXT to connect to that output.

One more question, the stock hu doesn't have rca outputs I believe, so the amp will have to be hooked to the speaker wire as input and output. But, I only see one set of hookups for speaker wires and one set for rca, how do I make that work? Sorry if I'm just missing something simple, my tbi is acting up.

Never mind, I see that included is 4 Bare wire-to-RCA adapters, that should do it.
