I purchased and received today a complete bed rug for my 2017 Limited. I was wondering if anybody has installed one and might give me any advice prior to the install. I’m going to install a BAK revolver X2 after I put the bedrug in. I know that the bed box LED lights will have to be removed, I’m guessing there’s a plug behind them, at least I hope so. My bed has the factory spray in liner, I’m hoping that has no effect on anything. Any other pointers would be appreciated if there’s anything unexpected I should be looking out for. Thx

I just installed mine about a week ago . 2017 with the dealer sprayed in Bedliner. It will go in real easy and pretty much stays in place by itself.

I did some research and found that the main problem is getting the Velcro to adhere to the Bedliner. So I found a video were the guy used the outdoor extreme type Velcro from Lowe's or home depot. Just make sure you get something with 3m brand sticky.

I only put Velcro along the front top part of the bed , up the 2 sides at the rear of the bed, and 2 stripes all the way across tthe tailgate . It is holding great. I did not put any on the bottom or all along the sides . It will stay put. You will see

I did wipe down the areas with alcohol to clean were i put the velcro

You will need to make slices for the tie downs in the corners, pretty easy to do after you get it situated in the bed. Just feel were it is and make a slice with a razor blade.then push it over it.

The lights . I just pulled the bedrug away and took them off. Made a hole just big enough to get the plug through. Then used the same bolts and put them back on and bolted right through the bedrug. So they now help hold it in place.

what Joes1500 said for the lights is pretty much what i did, but on mine (2016 my) its not just 2 bold holding it in. there is also a retainer clip that I had to make a hole in the liner for also. Basically i made three slices at the lights. A small one at each bolt location and than a bigger slice in the middle for the retainer clip and the wires.

Convert, for now.

Do it someplace warm, makes it much easier to mold the carpet in.

I used 2 drops of clear gorilla super glue on the back of the tabs for adhesion promotion, as I too have a Linex spray liner. The 3M tape alone wasn't gettin it done for me. Now, no problems at all. I have the tailgate and the bedrug as separate pieces. (To each his own, I just didn't like so much coverage on the sides with the complete rug).

I havent installed mine yet (thank you arctic cold!) but its held its "roll" pretty well even after being out of box for a couple weeks.

Did you have any issues getting it all to stay flat once installed?

Also, I have a few wrinkles in the side pieces...same question, did you have any and do they manage to work themselves out?

BTW, they make a special installation kit for trucks with spray in bedliner...I think its just the standard kit with a few extra velcro pieces and 3M adhesion promoter to help hold the velcro to the bedliner.

I used olympic plates (45s, 35s, etc) and let them sit on it for a day. No side pieces on my 2 piece (tailgate and the actual bed). This is the reason I didn't want the "full" bedrug.

I used their "extra" and I used their adhesion promoter, as well as followed the directions on sanding (roughing up) my Linex where I stuck the tape. It didn't work. I am less concerned about the bed, and more so about the tailgate, and that's the only place I used that superglue. It worked out perfectly.

Mines in, I think I’m going to like it. I just used the supplied Velcro, did not put any on the bottom. The lights for me was not quite as simple as it was for previous installers. On my lights, there were rubber insert anchors the screws went into. The bed rug made it impossible to use these inserts are not long enough. The lights only weigh a couple ounces each, I bought some industrial-strength Velcro and ran it lengthwise behind the lights and Velcro’d them to the bed rug, probably stronger than the rubber anchors that was holding them before. So I basically have one small hole the plug fits through and secured the lights with velcro, Can’t even see the Velcro.

When I unboxed mine I thought I was going to have problems getting it to play flat. But once I zipped the sides on and turned it right side out it layed flat on its own.

I didn't have any wrinkles after installation that are noticeable. It is a pretty good fit.

Mine has the spray in bedliner, there was no special kit for me. As the earlier poster said, once it was zipped together it pretty well fits into the bed. Once put in the bed and kind of pushed around it seems to naturally take shape.

There is a special kit from bedrug for trucks with spray in bedliners already applied.

https://bedrug.com/adhesion-promoter-kit

It really is just extra pieces of velcro and the most important, 3M adhesion promoter. All you really need is the 3m adhesion promoter and a warm day with truck bed above 68 deg F.
