Looking through AllMoparParts.com there is only one upper cover available, the one I have listed. With 3 lowers available, so I believe this is the one I need.

Part Number:1YW14DX9AC
Part:LOWER COVER
Replaces:1YW14DX9AB
Part Notes:W/MICROPHONE, W/SMARTBEAM
I'll dig through my receipts and get you an answer Sir , it may be tomorrow befor I can though ...

Somewhere it's documented what the overhead mic is from the 2017 trucks instead of the mirror

He means the information has been posted here before .
I read some literature on the 2017 mic can't remember where but I'm pretty sure it was somewhere in 4th gen audio threads ?
If I see it again I'll post a link to it here Sir .

Here is the 2017 mic info with pictures. You would have to cut the headliner and create a harness. There is one on the driver and passenger side.

Check with www.allmoparparts.com
I think they have an option

If you want the audio controls on your steering wheel allmoparparts.com has that kit as well and there is a very good post on here for the how to install the audio cotrols and hands free phone button on your steering wheel ! Hope this helps ...
That sounds like the better option

I know this is a old thread, but I felt it is better to respond here than making a separate thread about essentially the same thing.

I just bought a 2014 Ram 1500 and is almost ready to do the RA1 to RA2 swap. I'm also thinking of getting the mirror and harness setup--or the Amazon mic route if that would be easier. The only thing that is stopping me is the location of the harness to plug the mic/mirror. Is it on the end of the passenger side dash near the far right AC vent? if so, how do I take that part of the dash off to reach it? I've searched for this on the internet and didn't find an answer.

It's best imo to remove the glove box , then with one hand from the backside and one from the front you can remove the A/C vent pretty easy [emoji106]

Ok, I want to also add a mic to my 2014 RAM 5500 Cab / Chassis. I upgraded a couple of weeks ago to a RA2 radio and everything works fine. I took the glove box out and looked behind the passenger AC vent, and there isn't a wiring harness / plug. I assume I would have to run wires from the rear view mirror (mic location) to the radio?? If so, can anyone supply a wiring diagram? I tried the link on page 2 but it no longer works and the pic is to small to read clearly.
I found a mic like this one http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DN72KZU?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00
on eBay for $50 and got it. I plan on just wiring it to the rear plug of the radio if I can get fortunate enough to find a wiring schematic. Thanks for any help.
