I have a 2018 Ram 2500 with the 6.7 engine. I have a vibration that starts around 65 mph and really gets bad at 70 mph. I have had the tires balanced five times. I installed the Centramatic rings, but still have the vibration. I've seen numerous threads on this issue. Has anyone figured out what fixes this problem?

Drive shaft? Moving to poly bushings might help as well.

Is the truck stock? I also have an 18 CTD 2500 truck (mega cab, ram boxes, 4x4, factory air suspension) and it does not have this issue. Completely stock wheels and suspension.

first thing, who is balancing your tires? if they are using beads---DON'T
if you are running larger tires, check your tie-rod ends.. Centramatic balancers are awesome, I used them on my dually and bigger trucks.

If you have the slightest balance issue, it will be magnified at a certain speed if you have any worn suspension components..

Also, when they are balancing the tire, watch it on the balancer, look for the tire being out of round,,, it will look like its going up and down on the balancer as it rotates.. same goes if the tire is damaged and has "flat spots"

I had a similar issue. I switched to Michelin LTX tires and found a good tire shop. Problem has been fixed ever since.

I just started getting a vibration also around those speeds. I have a 2018 1500 Limited. Ironically it started after I installed a new set of tires, (same size, brand etc that i replaced, which I didn't have any issues with that set.) Had the tire shop re check the balance. After they stripped the weights and balanced they said it was good. But still have the vibration.

Not sure how to prove if it is a tire issue, but i wouldn't think you could balance it if that were the case.

Very interested in what you find out!!

Just a suggestion, I had a similar issue. Had my tires balanced at 2 different tire locations and didn't solve the problem. Heard about "Road force balance". Took it to a Firestone store that says they had it in my area, told them my situation and told them to do whatever necessary and balance at highest speed possible. Whatever they did, problem solved! If you've ever noticed a red or yellow dot on your tires when new it's meant to line one of them up with valve stem for better balance. you'll be surprised of the tire places or people that don't know it or don't do it. Who knows if they ever get their balance machines tested or calibrated to know their machine isn't the problem!

Swap your spare tire in and see if it goes away. It'll be a pain to do since you may have to do it/test it 4 times, but it is a way to test. My son had an issue like that on a car they own. Replaced several parts (CV axle, etc) chasing it. Ended up being a belt separation in a newish tire.

I have a completely stock 2018 2500 4x4 Cummings that has 185k miles on it. It started having the vibration about 25k miles ago. I thought it was the tires and replaced them with the same brand of tires that has been on it for 150k miles (3 sets) from the same tire shop. Made no difference, had them rebalance and trade fronts to back, still the same. Took the truck to driveline specialist shop and rearend speciality shop, both told me they could not find anything wrong. Vibration starts about 65 and goes to 80. After reading several forums about this issue, I’m going to drive it until it explodes and then I’ll buy a new one. I’m not going down that rabbit hole. It sucks because I really like the truck and have never had a problem until now.

Did you ever figure out where the vibration was coming from?
