So the aftermarket parts expert at the local dealer says that there is a thing called "Ram Cal" that if I buy it for $350, the dealer can then reset the TPMS sensors on my 2017 2500 to between 40-80 psi. He said that's what they do for people who they sell aftermarket wheels and tires to that are bigger, etc.

Evidentially this gizmo would then allow me to set different diameters for the speedo as well. I got the impression that it's a genuine FCA thing that addresses the TPMS and speedo issues for aftermarket tires.

Anyone heard of this, or is this a $350 money grab?

It's a partial money grab because it's a $170 device retail. The other really important part that most don't understand is that the device does not completely change the TPMS system. It's a 2-step process and the ProCal will only change the 1st step, the pressure threshold settings. The 2nd step is updating the RFH (radio frequency hub). This can be done at the dealer IF they're willing to do so and I'm sure they will charge you a fee.

The other option is to find someone like me that has an Autel Maxisys. The fee charged will likely be less than the dealer fee. Check out the top sticky thread in this Heavy Duty section or send me a PM for details.
