Good morning, I hope you are doing well. I currently have 3 open recalls on my truck as well as a broken Exhaust Bolt on my Passenger Side at the moment.

I tried to PM you but it says I cant. I have been stalking this forum since 2016 but signed up today to actually interact with the Forums. Thank you!

2015 Ram 1500 Crew Cab/5.7 Hemi
Vin# 1C6RR6LT7FS565047

Open Recall #'s
NHTSA # 17V-302- Occupant Restraint Control Module
NHTSA # 18V-332- Fault Handling Strategy of ECM
NHTSA # 18V-486- Tailgate actuator limiter Tab

Also, I am under the impression that my model year was the last year to have the 5 year/100,000 mile power train warranty. When date does this expire? The broken Exhaust Bolt should be covered under this warranty, right?

I live in AZ and purchased the truck in AZ, but work in Long Beach, CA and have a RAM dealership down the street. Glenn E. Thomas Dodge Chrysler Jeep (2100 E Spring St, Signal Hill, CA 90755) (562) 426-5111. I travel a lot, and for once would like a good experience with a dealership and don't want to be told that they never have heard of the Exhaust bolts snapping and try to push me past my warranty date. I'm not saying that they would or have, but I would like this to be addressed openly.

I guess what I am asking for, is the ability to drop the truck off and have the recalls, and the bolt repaired at the same time while minimizing unnecessary back and forth and subsequently lost time with my truck.

I greatly appreciate anything you can do for me. I do love my truck and this is the 3rd Ram in a row that I have purchased.

Thank You

Have you talked to your dealer?? I highly doubt they’re gonna brush off manifold bolts and try to push you out of warranty. It’s good work for dealer techs, pays well.

The 3 recalls you have are all very simple, and can be done fairly quickly. Depending on how busy the dealer is, doing those recalls and manifold bolts in one day should be pretty easy.

Your warranty will depend when the in service date is. If you call the dealer you’re planning on going to and give them your VIN, they will be able to tell you when it’s expired. The manifold bolts are covered under powertrain warranty.

I just checked your VIN, you have the 5 year 100,000mile powertrain warranty. It expires Feb 2020 by time unless you hit 100,000miles before.

So I would call the dealer and make an appointment.

I love this forum! When a guy can get this kind of help on his first post says a lot. I'm in a couple other forums, and if you're not one of the good ol boys, you get quite a bit of hate and trolling...

OK, sorry to go off topic. Just thought I'd share my thoughts. Looks like your covered OP.

contact chrysler directly via their website. I have a 2015 200 and the thermostat went out and it was a $500 fix at a dealer. I was out of warranty by length of time, but only had 33xxx miles. They stepped up and covered the entire bill. All i did was email a copy of the receipt and they cut me a check.

like others stated the recall items are all easy fixes. the tailgate one took me maybe 45min.

You'll likely need to afford your service department the opportunity to address your concerns first. Ramcares usually chimes in if you run into problems.

Make an appointment at your local dealer. Then if you are not satisfied with the level of service that you receive you can contact Ram Service. I've never had an issue with my local dealer.

To add to that, this is by far the best forum ive been on. I have a 2006 Ram since new and this forum has helped me keep her on the road and out of a dealer. Every time I have ever had a problem, there was a post describing my issue and what I needed to get to fix it.

****UPDATE****
So I finally got around to the Exhaust Leak and I would like to share a POSITIVE experience from a dealer. I dropped it off at noon yesterday and after replacing both sides (under warranty) and 5 recalls, it is sitting in back in my driveway. They even wanted to get me a rental car. It was about as painless as this could have gone. While this design flaw remains, just wanted to share.

My Ram has two cosmetically looking different gaskets on the manifolds,I assume one is factory gasket and the other is an aftermarket gasket. If it is then someone may have replaced the bolts on just the side that was broken.I would change to headers but years ago they would burn out gaskets too often from them loosening up constantly.Maybe these days they are made better?

Glad you got it fixed and shared a positive experience with your dealer. Most guys only come here and complain about everything their dealer does.
