I installed this today. Super easy. About 10 minutes. Now I’m looking for a light bar, or bars that fit the look. I think I’m going to go with the skinnier bar. What do you all think? The bars is really nicely built. Good quality, but a bit too expensive in my opinion. I took several pics so those that wanted to see it close up, could. I looked for better pics online but most were kinda tough to see the “look”.

Nice looking unit.

It looks like it could easily get in the way when doing slight side pulls with a tow strap. But I suppose you could use the opposite side (if the rope is angled to the passenger side, then you would have to connect to drives side mount).

Or on a rear hitch mounted D-ring shackle. Since the rear axle and drive shaft is of much heavier duty construction than the front axle, this would be the preferred location for attaching a recovery strap. Also, possibly safer for the driver if the strap snapped.

Trying to imagine pulling a truck forwards from the back end makes my head hurt.

Haha Low Sky.

I’m interested to see what you come up with for lights. I’m considering doing something similar for aux lighting purposes.

Looks good! I've tossed the idea of getting this bar for awhile. I've decided to mount my light behind the grill. This bar does look really good though

Yes, if the wagon is doing the tugging, definitely do it from the rear.

I would highly recommend never doing any major pulling in reverse. Recipe for disaster lol.

Just purchased the same light bar. Decided to go old school and put on a KC Gravity Pro6 light bar in the 5 light configuration

Where did you mount your switch for the light? Also if you dont mind how much did that setup cost you? Do you need to remove the covers on the lights before use also?

yes I purchased the light bar brackets from Randy Ellis, figured that would be the easiest route and would fit correctly. Mounted the switch in the blank panel just over the e-brake release. Be very careful with this spot the switch I picked had to be centered just right to clear the stuff behind. Cost of the Light bar was right at $1,100 including the locking nuts. Yes you have to remove the covers. In CA they will pull you over if the lights aren't covered on the street.

Thanks for the info. I like the mounting location. Thinking of getting a piece 3d printed for that location that will angle the switch upwards if you know what i mean. Maybe a four bank set-up. How much is that ticket for uncovered lights? Sounds so silly to me but im on the opposite coast

I don't know how much the ticket is but just gives the CHP another reason to stop you. The switch is easy to reach and the light on the switch lets me know they are on. Not certain you really need to angle it up. If you use small switches there might be room for 4 but the size I used could probably only fit 3 at the most. The plate is not square the sides angle slightly.

I see 4 different mounts on the Randy Ellis site - which one worked for you here? That light bar is ~32" - so not sure if you used the 30", 40", or flat 3-tab adapter.

Thanks in advance! :favorites13:
