Do you already have a good home theater set-up or are you putting one together now??

I have a unconventional home theater as I don't use satellite speakers. Pioneer towers and center plus a sub. Pioneer receiver with a crown xls1000 hooked up for sub duty. Its decent enough for me but I want to build my own setup one day.

Cool. I have been thinking about putting something together for my home, too. I currently have a 10 yr old Bose system that is begging to be retired... Not home theater because I rarely watch TV, but more something to sit back and enjoy quality sound.

I would like to built my own speaker stands, too. My home's design/furniture/decor is very contemporary and most speakers I have seen look ugly...

What would you recommend (receiver, 2ways, sub)???

So I've been neglecting my trucks audio for awhile now due to freaking cold temps out and been playing with a sub for home use. This is a buddies SI HT18 I've been working on.

I loved my old Onkyo, but when it died went with a Yamaha, HTD flat panels for front and center, towers took up too much real estate, and Polk bookshelfs for surrounds, with an Elemental Designs plate amp on an SSA Dcon 12 for sub duty. I love movies. Sorry to take off topic from the truck, which is sweet, just giving input.

Home theater/audio is fun, a lot more possibilities, and money to spend. Audio is audio, it is all fun, vehicles limit us to space, houses limit us to budget. You can go as big or as small as you want.

Power doesn't have to be everything in a home setup, if you have the room. The BEST sub I have ever seen/heard, was a Kicker 18, and this was years ago, in a box based on a Klipsch/folded horn design-homebuilt box, that probably had 8-10 ft/3 of airspace combined with all of the chambers. If you didn't know it was the sub, you would never pick it out. This thing would rattle your teeth, while being completely unplaceable audibly, and was on about 300 watts.
