Not trying to thread jack but this is where the pros reside...I swapped out all of the speakers and head unit in a 2015 RCSB. Components up front, coax in the rear. I can barely hear the rears because of the seats and seat belt locations. Any thoughts on eliminating the rears to run the door components active? I have an older 8 channel audiocontrol xover just staring at me.

Go for it man I don't run any rears and if you can dial in the speakers with the AC xover active would be the only way I would go. I have never missed rear fill in my reg cab.

Not sue what 8ch xover you have but to run active you are going to need a decent DSP to make sure you get the drivers sounding good. Plus eliminate the rears completely you, don't need them.

Agree with eliminating the rears, I did that too. As for the wiring, yeah without a good dsp it's going to be tough running an active up front with the stock speakers. Trying to cross-over the door speakers with the dash speakers without Time Alignment is going to be a pain, they are just too far apart and you'll have a lot of separation in the sound.

I have infinity kappas which I know are not the greatest but they work for me for now. my pioneer head unit has some minimal time alignment in the form of sonic center. I know a dsp could be more precise. I am hoping to get away fairly cheap as I still need to lower the truck. Thanks for the advice guys.

If you really want to step up into a relatively cheap DSP MiniDSP is a great option at least for your front stage.

Very interesting device. I'm still building my sub box here. I'm trying to maximize functionality and space in an RCSB. My box is shrinking as it conforms to the back wall. I should probably grow a set, pull the wall carpet and 3rd seatbelt off and make an amp rack...ugh.

Were you able to keep your factory USB's working with your pioneer deck? I bought a cheap mini usb to male A usb and it didn't like it. Reminded me of a cheap USB cable I bought that would charge but not transfer data. Its costing me more money to be cheap.

Metra sells the proper adapters. OR you can hardwire it.

ordered it. Says for GM and Chrysler cars so I am optimistic. Thank you!!

Edit: Got the cable, plugged it in to the back of my pioneer and to the ram male end. Head unit flashed no device/connecting (or something) in an infinite loop. Could not change sources or power off. So I unplugged it. I thought it was strange that nothing seemed to work USB wise. So I used the pioneer supplied usb cable and it didn't work. Just said reading and it never did. It did charge though. Now I'm thinking either the Metra/axxess usb cable is trash or my pioneer's USB port has somehow gone south.

I called metra and they said I had the wrong cable, that I needed the mini B cable that has male ends on either side. That was obviously wrong as the truck has a male end and the stereo has a female port. So the cable I got is correct, just doesn't work. I do not see any firmware updates for my pioneer other than an XM one.

Any suggestions?

Metra's online guide is useless. I would call and confirm with Metra just to be sure. Just like how the Chrysler's use the Euro Antenna adapters and the Ford's use the old Chrysler ones. Sometimes things just don't make sense lol.

Anyone interested in basically BNIB JL JX500.1? Trying to fund a Mosconi 200.4 so my 120.4DSP will be up for grabs as well.
