Rear Defroster

Here’s the deal....I have buttons for both front and rear defrost, but there is no indication by looking at my rear window that there is a defrost in the glass. When I push the button, it certainly doesn’t help when the window fogs up. What gives ?

That is the universal button for the mirrors and the rear glass. It confuses many people when they purchase there trucks. If your window doesn't have the grid lines in the rear window the button is for your heated mirrors only.

i thought the exact same thing. looked for almost an hour for the heated rear glass... then was disappointed with just mirror defrost!

Does anyone know if you can swap out an existing rear window with a window with a window with rear defrost? Is there a plug somewhere in a wiring harness near the back seat to plug in the rear defrost?

You might be better off with the FrostFighter kit. The wiring might be there so you need to pull the trim to check. Otherwise it might need a manual switch.
