I understand they are holding the backseat in place, but damn.... It really feels like I'm stripping the head of the 18mm off rather than turning it....Break out the air rachet?

I used a 1/2 inch drive socket with a breaker bar to break them loose. Once you get them out you’ll see all the thread locker the factory put on them. First time you put them back in it feels like you’re going to snap one off too. After the first time you do it they aren’t too bad. I’ve had mine out multiple times chasing down water leaks.

Ok, just wanted to make sure I wasn't losing my mind (anymore than I already have)

The ones I'm putting back in are 1" longer (for the seat lift) this should be fun.....

Oh yeah that will be fun. Multiple times pulling them out to add a washer or two till you get the right height. I did the latch cutting on the rear seat rest bracket for the fold down mod. My dog rides in the back so I pulled the seats several times to cut more of the bracket off outside of the cab. Didn’t want metal flakes to cut his paws.

My wife has been questioning my sanity going through all this (plus the money for a full stereo upgrade) for a .5mile commute LOL

Lol I’m lucky my wife hates my truck. She’s short and hates climbing up into it. Only my dog or daughter rides with me.

Mine did, too. Paying for Sirus/XM for an 8-mile commute. But Hair Nation just makes sitting at one of the four red lights sooooo much easier.... :headbang:

Used an impact gun to get mine, didn't think the Ryobi 1/2" impact wrench would so it, but it did.

Did the cut method, then got tired of replacing the "silencers" every month or so because of the scrubboard roads.
Plus the sheps like the room. (still gotta get a pic of them in the back)

I'd imagine you'll find the issue is rust. Those bolts go through the floor and are exposed underneath. An impact gun and some lube from below will be your best bet.

I pulled mine to do the seat thing at 2 years old and they were pretty gross. They're now hit yearly with oil as part of my yearly rustproofing.

I pull the pass seat fairly often in mine at the track, and the best thing i've found is to use a good anti-seaze on the bolts.
Lately i've been mixing copper coat anti-seaze and graphite anti-seaze on alot of bolts, especially exhaust bolts,as the 2 mixed together seems to give the best results in my opinion
