Airlift 1000s are not noticeable at all when kept at 5psi for normal use. Great product for the money.

I just cut the airlift 1000's out of my coils a couple of weeks ago and ordered the TLC kit on Tuesday. A lot of people swear by the airlift's, for me they would not stop squeaking. I called CS and they told me I need to pull my coils out and sand them to "rough" up the finish , I laughed at them and then cut them out a few days later. I don't think the squeaking is a common problem since most people are very happy with them. I had firestone ride rites on my 2008 ram and they started leaking after a month or so. I tore out all the lines and fittings and replaced everything with 1/4 yellow air line from Parker and all Parker push to connect fittings and never had a single leak afterwards. When the TLC kit comes in I will do the same. Basically I'm just buying it for the bags , I will toss all the fittings and line right in the trash.

+1. I did a bare bones install because I figured that the most simple install would be the most reliable. Therefore no onboard pump. I pump up to 35psi when I'm towing a 7400lb trailer once a month, and otherwise the drop them down to 5psi.

Cheap, reliable, and function as advertised.

So I have had the tlc air system on the truck now for about 2 years and am giving up on it. I am tired of chasing air leaks and the horrible ride both towing and empty. This truck actually will vibrate the dash and other components when going down even slightly rough roads both empty and loaded. About 500 bucks down the toilet but just cant stand it any longer.
I am looking at the TTC 1223V coils with the variable load. I want a decent ride when empty but need the added spring height for when towing and loaded.
Also considering the airlift 1000 but I have severe reservations on the empty ride quality if going this route.
Please let me know your personal experiences with these two systems both positive and negative.
Thanks

I did this exact combo on my truck a few weeks ago, along with a pair of Bilstein 4600 HD shocks and the Wireless One System. Unloaded, my truck (with 5 psi in the bags) rides as nice, if not better than the stock. Even my wife, who is a passenger quite often, mentioned how nice the ride remained after all the mods were completed. I mentioned somewhere in another post on the forum how much heavier the TufTruck coils are compared to the stock ones. I have not had the opportunity to tow or haul since the mods, but I have no doubt that they will all work as advertised. I will also add the Wireless One system is really nice to have in conjunction with the air bags. The remote, which has 2 programmable presets, and included compressor make life so much easier when it comes to making quick and precise adjustments to the bags, and ultimately the ride quality of the truck. One last thing, since installing these mods, my truck seems to have less roll when cornering and seems more stable.
