Well to start. I purchased a 2015 SLT quad cab ecodiesel (Canadian model). Immediately took to converting it entirely to the sport front end with all OEM parts. In order to make the projector headlights work properly I needed the adapter harness from retroshop which works great. Now my question is... does anyone know if it's possible to reflash the ecu so the daytime running lights are the LEDs like the sport or limited? Currently set up the SLT uses the highbeam as the DRL and then the highbeam shuts off when the turn signal is on which has slowly annoyed me over the last year so I would like it to function properly as a sport or limited.
I have been to 2 dealerships locally, both have taken the truck in and came back an hour later saying it is not possible to do, I just feel that with today's technology that it has to be possible with the simple press of a button when connected to the computer? No local dealerships know much about anything other than oil changes and tires so I'm looking for someone that actually knows what they're talking about and can shed some light on this for me. I do have a buddy with a limited ecodiesel willing to let me flash his VIN to my ecu if that is all it will take? But I have been told by both local dealerships that it's not possible to flash his VIN because the new computers are linked to the Internet somehow and it has to go through a database etc and that even if they could do it, it wouldn't work.
