Remote start

yea it’s best to death but... tested my rf hub. Have model
68319677AB. Some pages say this one will work. In Alfa i enabled remote start, Enabled hood latch present, reset rf hub after, installed a jumper across the connector under the hood where the hood latch goes. Can’t get truck to remote start. What should I look for? When I hit the button it just locks my truck

If you have a 17 or 18 then it sounds like you did everything right. Go for a quick drive. Cycle the truck on and off a couple of times and it should work after. It took mine a drive with a couple cycles for it to take

Yea it’s a early model 2017. I’ll give it a couple key cycles. Hopefully it works.

Under CBC I/O Usage- hood ajar switch usage, what are you set at- 1k or 500ohm? Whatever it is, switch it, take it for a drive, then try again.
EDIT: I guess first thing I should ask, have you made sure the wiring goes from that plug ALL THE WAY to the BCM?

I did not follow the wiring all the way back to the bcm. I have to check pin 11. Was just reading up on that. Don’t know how I missed that. Just glad my rf hub works for remote start. It’s set for 500/500. I tried 1k but same thing.

No wire in pin 11. Go figure. Guess I have to order a pin out or order the 200$ kit. At least I’ll get 2 more remotes but all I want to do is ground that pin. I’m not worried about running the whole harness...

Grab one of these, crimp a piece of wire to it, insert it in pin 11, and ground the other end. This will mimic exactly what you were trying to do at the hood connector. https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/829-13627884-L?r=829-13627884-L

That would be awesome. I can PayPal one of y’all. I’ve got it rigged temporarily with some 18awg stuffed in the slot. Surprised it even worked. Just gotta order new fob rubbers with the remote start button

I tried to buy a pin, but they sell minimum 200 of them. Do you know if napa or aotozone will have them ?

Am I reading this thread right??? If I wire the hood connector to read closed, and use the alfaobd app to turn on the remote start, and refresh the RFB, is that all that is required to activate the remote start??????? It sounds to easy.

As long as you have a 2017-19 classic. All you'll need beyond that is a key Fob overlay with the remote start. You can find them on Amazon for about $12
