About a year ago had trouble with the remote start not working.
I checking on this forum, I did the trick with the resister on the hood latch and that did the trick, BUT.........
it seems that on the third remote start, nothing happens unless I manually key start the truck, it seems like it's a reset.
Am I missing something to bypass the reset option or am I blessed with the way it is?

Any help out there??
TIA 360

I feel like a broken record saying this again this month but, take your key apart. Make sure the little buttons that contact the chip are not loose or have fallen off. That is a very common problem. Happened to my 2016 a couple years ago.

Being the 3rd time seems kinda weird though.

I'd recommend starting where I mentioned.

You shouldn’t have to do a “trick” for the remote start to work. Dig deeper and find the real problem.

I believe you can only do two remote starts, then it must be started normally. It resets then, allowing two remote starts again.
This... after 3 consecutive remote starts you must start the vehicle with a key to reset the counter.

I just bought my 2017 Rebel 1500 (50,000 miles) one key fob. When i got home from the dealer the next morning i realized the key fob will not remote start the car. The lock and unlock, panic and air ride lowering work. The truck will not flash parking lights or anything. Dealer is providing a second key when it comes back in stock.. Any suggestions????

I'd look up the factory window sticker and see if it's actually equipped with remote start and not just a replacement FOB that has the button.

Does anything come up on the EVIC about the remote start when you hit the button twice ? It will usually state that it failed.
