Saw this 5th gen cover on eBay, it appears to have insulation underneath. The cover mount is different than 4th gen, it bolts down.

I took my cover and foam off a couple of months ago. I took a 2100 mile trip to Wisconsin from Texas shortly after and did not see any noticable change in my fuel economy and I record mileage at every fill. I usually run right at the speed limit or a couple mph over and I averaged just under 25mpg for the trip which is consistent with previous recordings. My ED has the 392 gears. Have not noticed any difference in the cabin noise or operating temps.

Anybody who's into racing their trucks usually removes the engine cover.Mine came off the day the truck came home, plus I think the engine isn't a bad looking engine, and to me the cover actually detracts from the looks of it.It's not as good looking an engine as an old BB Chevy, but it's still a decent looking engine in my opinion, lol

Did you say old BBC. :)

Lol could not help it. :)

Let me wipe the drool off 69,lol. Hows the old girl pull with with the BB. Are you still running the deep gears in the rear ?

Kinda at a stand still right now thanks to Corna 19, wifes company shut down so we kinda went into conservation mode.
I need a shifter and drive shaft and well some exhaust.
Hopefully next month we can get back to normal things..lol

Well you have the hard work done, but it still sucks when it's nice out,and all you can do is look at it,lol. I'm so done with this damn virus ,but it doesn't look like it's going away anytime soon. My wife is really pissed at the virus,as she booked the first week of May off,so she could race her new toy. Our track was supposed to open on May 1st,and the virus took care of that.Worst of it is,i'm the one paying for it,lol
