does anyone roll with no plastic engine cover?
It seems like just a heat trap. Possibly some HP and MPG gains as well?

Let’s hear it!

You'll actually lose MPGs taking the cover off..some FCA engineers figured that cover help with airflow around the engine netting a .001 MPG gain.

Anybody who's into racing their trucks usually removes the engine cover.Mine came off the day the truck came home, plus I think the engine isn't a bad looking engine, and to me the cover actually detracts from the looks of it.It's not as good looking an engine as an old BB Chevy, but it's still a decent looking engine in my opinion, lol

Mines off, took it off as I was considering painting it and putting it back on. My new plan is to just leave it off and get the 3G Customz valve covers to dress up the engine bay. Still waiting on my Billet Technology Underhood dress kit 3 months and counting now.

I've often wondered if it would help on a hot engine on hot days as it does seem like it would trap heat where you don't want heat.
But how much engine noise does it suppress from the cabin???
Does it protect the hood from heat soak when shut off??

The insulation blanket protects the hoods paint, the engine cover is basically a dress up kit for the engine. I've seen them both insulated and uninsulated,my buddies trucks cover was insulated on his 2013,while my engine cover is uninsulated on my 2014,i have no explanation for why one was insulated and another is not

I wasn't sure if all of the models came with an insulation blanket or not.

I assumed it was for noise and looks for the most part.

Cold climate low speed/idle engine warming assistance, no?

Direct port injection and the IAT sensor is ahead of the intake cover in the intake trac,it's basically a dress up item Tim.

If it helps me get to oil operating temp even just a minute sooner so I can let the pedal get into open loop, that’s a win in my book!
