Took my truck in for a recall and a couple of warranty repairs and got it back with a chunk of paint out of the driver door handle.

I am not looking forward to the door coming apart, #1,
and #2, Its going to have to be perfect or I'm not taking the truck off the lot until it is.

How should this be corrected? Repaint or just put in a new white one? Having anything taken apart and put back together on a new truck just gives me anxiety; it'll never be the same and the first rattle is really gonna **** me off.

The cheapest way to fix it is layer touch up paint in the chip until it fills in the hole.

Wet sand and polish. Done.

If you can buy the handles painted then they would probably just replace the whole handle.

If you have to paint them they are just going to repaint your existing handle.

They’ll probably just replace the handle since that would be quickest and cheapest. Nothing special about doing it, so I wouldn’t worry about it.

Another reason not to go to the dealer for anything unless you absolutely have to. That’s the main reason why I do all my own maintenance and whatever is broke around here I fix it myself. Getting ready to put a metal roof on my house when the insurance check comes in.

Can't really do my own warranty and recall work though, but I get what you're saying! The rear slider actuator was failing so they had to pull the back seats, and the radiator fan wasn't kicking in so they replaced the fan clutch, plus the recall was the nut on the drag link that can come loose and cause 'loss of directional control'. Love how they make it sound so professional. It just ****** me off that it happened. Its like HOW THE F WERE YOU ABLE TO PULL THIS OFF? Only scratch on the truck some lowlife tagged the pass side rear bumper on the corner and drove off. Scuffed the clear down to the paint, and only 2 months after I bought it.
