Removing chrome clad

Anyone else removed the chrome clad wheel covers? I’m taking mine off to have the black steel rim instead of the chrome. Getting the chrome piece of is easy. Getting the glue off is not. Anyone know of an extreme adhesive remover that won’t screw up the rim? Thanks!
