Retro Solutions HID

i did an HID upgrade about a year ago. went with Retro Solutions as they were highly recommended. have 55w 5000k lows and 55w 5000k highs with 55w 4300k fogs. long story short. last night my driver side lamp went out, a few minutes after, my passenger side went out. when i turned them back on they flickered for about half a second then shut off. i just finished taking apart the whole system and found out that both bulbs are cracked at the top right where the arc connects to the tip of the bulb. the passenger side bulb was practically missing the top quarter inch of the bulb and was broken. has anyone had this issue or know why it was caused?

I have run 4 different sets of Retro Solutions kits on my trucks. I had a little corrosion build up on a few of the ballasts, but never had a problem with the bulbs. It is strange that they would both break at the same time. HID bulbs generally last a very long time.

More than likely could have been a bad lot/batch of bulbs. That does happen from time to time, and I'm pretty sure both of your bulbs are part of the same lot.

Do you run with your headlights on at all times? Or have them set to auto so that they're not on during daylight?

Cliff p, i only use my headlights at night, during the day i leave them off, not on auto either.
ya i was pretty surprised that they went out within a short amount of time from each other.

My highs wont stay on, whole system just shut downs when i turn on my retro solution highs, lows work fine, can't get them to return my calls but its ok don't need my highs much annway
