Been looking at the traction control/tow-haul/hazard button row on the center dash of my truck.

I'm wondering if it's possible to pop out the blank spaces and install additional rocker switches/buttons in addition on that row for other stuff.

All of my searches seem to show people cutting up their dashboard in various places to insert new switches, why not just add them in this row?

Honestly, not meaning to sound snarky, but there are a metric gazillion threads on the console-mounted switches from varying generations of RAM truck. Look through the "Interior" forums and you'll learn more about the auxiliary switches than you ever wanted to know! LOL

As Stimpy mentioned, the switch assy is not modify-able, there is a circuit board behind the switches and messing with it could easily ***** your other switches.

Underneath the radio a bit, if you have a long, narrow piece of plastic with RAM centered on it that looks simply like a piece of trim, that is for an optional auxiliary switch assy. You can search for that switch assy on any number of sites and install it, giving you 4 kinda awkwardly placed switches. You'll see what I mean when you see a pic of it. The switch assy is easy enough to install, you're on your own for the wiring past the tiny plug-in connector. The caps are not removable so you're stuck with "Aux 1", "Aux 2", etc...

I did it in that location but it is a "aftermarket oem auxiliary switch relay".
4th gen ram electronics on facebook.
Like Paul said, the switchs are kinda awkward to get to but I have long arms so it works for me and is clean.
Aux1 is grill pods, aux2 is towhook cover flush mount pods, 3 and 4 to be determined.
This is the 3rd and last time I'm messing with switches in my truck as it has a oem look

PopsRacer and I both wish we had that switch configuration... I think that started with the '13's and up... We have the split switches, with the tow/e flashers/etc on the upper switch row under the radio and the optional aux switches under the A/C knobs.

It's like everyone said FU to everyone up to the 13's... AEV doesn't make their switch panel for us (and won't even be bothered to return a question regarding them...) Nobody makes any relay packages for the pre-'13 split switch configs... We're just kinda on our own when it comes to adding accessory wiring...

Good to know. I'll look under interior then.

It's a bizarre layout with weirdly spaced blanks between the buttons. Makes you think you can easily add stuff in between.
