Not sure if this normal or not but I noticed today that when I turn my wheel either way the Rpms drop about 100 rpms until I straighten the wheel out again

Thought so just wasn't sure. Just out of curiosity what causes it to do that.

When you are sitting still and turning, it puts a load in the power steering pump that is driven off the engine drive belt. The pump gets harder to turn and bogs the engine down just a little.
