Rust on nut inside door opposite of passenger side mirror.

Is this normal? My driver's side doesn't have rust.

It’s just a nut.... it’s exposed. Throw some paint on it if your worried about it

Fwiw my truck had the exact same thing... On my drivers side but not passenger.

Just the nut though. I've had the mirrors off and there is no rust on the door or even the mirror stud.

So nothing to worry about? I took the nut off and it's only on there, not the bolt.

Nope, I wouldnt worry about it. If it bothers you, like a previous poster said, just hit it with some spray paint before reinstalling the nut.

It is a curiosity to me, though....why only one side and why only the nut. Probably just mis-coated hardware or something.

My passenger side looks as rusty if not more.
Driver side just a touch of rust on that nut.

If u don’t want to paint it, get a can of fluid film and give it a spritz and it won’t rust anymore. But it will still look like that.
