I had a k$N on my cough cough Chevy ... After joining this site I've heard a ton on S&B In takes . Are they worth the 300 or is something like a voolant a better way to go !

love the SB, looks just right
The Vararam is going to outperform the S&B, so it wouldn't be an upgrade on the performance side of things. Your Vararam filter is cleanable as well, so a $20 cleaner kit will have it looking like new again. Also, the S&B is a louder intake than the Vararam. Vararam really isn't any louder than stock because it seals off to the insulated hood liner. You will definitely hear the S&B a lot more than you will the Vararam.
I want to give a little insight on the whole 2014 S&B kit as well.
The 75-5066 that we have been selling for the past 8 months or so fits perfectly fine on all 2013-14 trucks. S&B said they had a few customers say that it was close to 1 of the AC lines, so they simply took that exact kit, put a small "dent" in the aitbox for a little extra clearance, and created a new part# for it. Supply is limited on the new kit because they are waiting for all the 75-5066 kits to sell out first. Once those sell out, they will be discontinuing the 75-5066 kit and replacing it with the 75-5078.
In the meantime, the 75-5066 will fit on all 2013 and 2014 Ram trucks without any problems at all. We have more than 100 customers running this kit already without any issues on their 2014 trucks.
that looks awesome! is that the #75-5078?
Did it make a difference in how your truck sounds?
it's the •SB 75-5066_Dodge Ram Cold Air Intake 2013 Hemi
just a slight difference in sound but not as loud as the KN
Matt, I also have a question, us this dent large enough to mean anything on airflow vs the '13 kit???
Well, I did the installation yesterday afternoon, and hood clearance is not a problem. It is close, but the S&B air tube does not touch the under-hood insulation.
Performance? I had expected a small increase in low-end torque and throttle response, but WOW! The difference "off the line" is remarkable, but the sound remains normal during cruise and light acceleration. Still too early to assess fuel mileage...
