Sealing bedplate

So I'm in the process of rebuilding the engine right now and I found the part number that factory service manual used to seal the bed plate so I ordered the gasket maker to use and it has been over 32 hours and the gasket maker is still wet to touch. Should I pull the bed plate off and seal with a different rtv?

I probably would. You could’ve got some bad/old sealer. JMHO
