Hi everyone,

I have a 2016 Ram 1500 Laramie that came with factory projectors and halogen bulbs.

I installed a Retroshop HID kit for my low beams earlier this year.

While I haven't had any issues with the lights so far, I did not like the bulky resistors. I hated mounting them and the idea that they get extremely hot. I haven't felt or tested the temperature. From what I have read they get extremely hot.

My question, is it possible to remove these resistors or no? I am seeing something about Alfa OBD but am unsure if the options in this will help me eliminate the resistors and not produce lamp-out lights on the dash.

If you can detach the resistors from the ballasts get rid of them :)

If you set the truck to HID with AlfaOBD you only need the ballasts and ignitors installed.
