Hey guys I picked up a 2012 Ram 1500 with the hemi and 3.92 gears currently has 33k miles on her. I like to do add some mods to increase the power for fun and The occasional 8000 lb boat tow from time to time. So not being able to buy everything at once I like to know the correct order to buy / install parts. Also what companies do you all recommend. From my research I am considering the following

CAI Varram
Tuner Diablo with custom hemi fever tunes
Exhaust flow master muffler or should I go cat back, are headers worth the cash.

I am open to all suggestions ideally I like to stay under a grand but could go up to $1500 if the performance gains are worth it. thanks for the help.

You can get all that from Matt at Moes performance he is a vendor here.
I like my vararam.
If you buy the Diablo from moes I believe you still get the hemifever custom tunes free
I would go muffler swap only. You can get a direct bolt in magnaflow mufflex from moes. I'm not sure if they have other bolt ins there

Go tuner first. Best gains will be seen with that

I think that list is spot on.

In my view, doing the intake and exhaust before the programmer makes a lot of sense.

The programmer takes into account the more air in / more air out changes and when you log to begin developing that custom tune, having all the mods in place cuts down on the number of re-writes you need vs. writing a tune, then adding a mod, then re-writing the tune, then adding a mod, etc...

I like the list you have going there. I didn't notice much with the shortie headers. And when I bought my truck it had a Magnaflow 14. I swapped it out to a Flowmaster super 44 and didn't notice anything except better sound from the FM. Just installed an exhaust cutout, and notice increased throttle response when it's open.

Don't forget your 180* t-stat, it made a good difference on mine apparently when I sent my logs to HF

Agree with all the above; exhaust/intake before tuner (only do tuner if you bother to go all the way with a custom tune), shorty headers are only for sound, not power. 180*T-stat is pricey for a t-stat but worth it. Muffler swap is all you need unless you want bigger tips; the stock piping is adequate size and already SS.

Tuner should be your first mod IMO. You will gain more hp/dollar from the tuner than anything else you do to the truck. Then I would add the intake and exhaust in whichever order you prefer after that. Most will do the exhaust first because they want the added sound.

If I was towing an 8000lb boat with a 1500 the first thing I would do is a brake upgrade.
