Just bought a 2021 Tradesman and get a Serv 4WD light sometimes. Seems linked to only using the tranny lock and not adding teh parking brake, but that's not absolute. Dealership read codes: wiring issues, including bad ground; module; etc.. Anyone else had this amount of fun in a new truck? What was the cause for your truck? Do actuators come from the factory bad? so far, dealership said the steady light isn't as bad as blinky light, which can damage parts. Is that right?

you might do some leg work of your own and find out what conditions could trigger a serv 4wd light.

Still unresolved after four visits to the dealership. Yesterday, the front transfer case was replaced under warranty. Wiring has been checked. Hello Lemon law.

Sounds good in theory, but you buy a new truck to have technical professionals debug faulty factory work and/or components.

Take note of the conditions when the light comes on. In park, driving and at what speed etc. Can you get the light to come on during any particular type of driving? Will the light stay on for any length of time or just blinks and turns off? For $h!ts and giggles take it to your local auto parts store and have them check for any codes. They will usually do it for free and they will be an unbiased party with nothing to hide or cover up. If there are codes, take note of the but DO NOT clear them and take the truck back to the dealer. As a mechanic for 30 years, I will always try to diagnose any problems with my brand new vehicles before I take it to the dealer for warranty work. That way I have an understanding or the knowledge of when a dealer tries to screw me over

Sorry about your issues. Your avatar pic is of a 4th gen Ram 1500 and you have this in a 5th gen category. Just verifying if your 2021 is a new style or old style 1500.

For what ever reason, electrical gremlins seem to be effecting the 5th gens more.
