I installed led bulbs in all my front lights a week ago, now my tpms says it needs to be serviced. One wheel not reading. Is there a possible link to the led headlights? Or just a sensor gone faulty. The weird thing is it will go away and work for a bit but it seems like when I drive longer then 20 mins that it comes back on. Thanks

What year is your truck?

How old are the sensors?

well that's 7 years, I think they say the battery in the older style is 5-6 years and 7-10 for the new ones. Its possible they may have just ran their course.

Yiiiiip. .....what JB1 said, lol. Changing tires on my 2010, they recommended me to change all the sensors for that reason

Ya I have a 2008 Silverado and earlier this year couple of the TPMS quit reading then finally all of them stopped. It needed new tires anyway so I just put new TPMS in them and it works fine again.

Lol it’s a cool truck, used to be lowered but the Hurricanes convinced me to just level it on 305’s

Here’s the last truck I built and sold before I bought my Ram.

Like said above, I would think it has more to do than the age of the TPM sensors than the LED headlamp conversion.

I'm not 100% sure on the older trucks but my 2014 didn't play well with aftermarket TPMS units. I had to have them all replaced with OEM ones. My dealership said they had seen a couple other trucks come in with the same problem. Now on my 2010 Challenger, I didn't have any problems with the aftermarket ones (same one's I tried to use in my truck).

Far Out.......... I posted this as being the 4th day on and was getting annoying dinging every time I started it with all sensors functioning normal. 20 minutes after posting I went to get in and the service light was out. On dash it says tire pressure OK. Thank you, O Great Forum spirits

Out of curiosity what brand and model are the LED lights you installed?
