I am set on doing the VB upgrade, but need your advice on the II vs III because Firm and Harsh are relative terms.

Are there any stage 3 owners that would recommend going with the 3 only in extreme applications, or is it good for NA builds/daily drivers?

I'm leaning towards the 3, but I dont want something so harsh that the tires chirp with every shift just cruising around town.

Unfortunately, the VB changed in 2011, and neither Sharadon nor myself have been able to find the cores for these. You can always send your VB in to them to be modified, but you will have about 2 weeks of down time when you factor in the shipping both ways.

I ran a stage 3 on my 03, and loved the firmer shifts. I normally only recommend the stage 2 to the guys that are towing often. If you are looking for fun and performance, then the stage 3 is the way to go.

Thanks Matt, I'm going with the stage3 then. Yeah, I'm looking for a second VB to send to them because I cant afford the downtime. I've found new ones for the 65rfe but they're $600. May have to wait till fall to do this one

Good luck with that! Matt answered my stage2-3 question as well cause I do tow and may just want to step it up a notch some day from the current transgo hd w resister line pressure method to stage 2 and a sonnax. Its far on the list but on there never the less!
