Should I get rid of my Vararam?

Ok so when I bought my truck it already had K&N intake on it. I replaced it with a Vararam. The mid and high range performance definitely increased over the K&N. But after doing some more research, I found that an oil catch can could be more beneficial over having just a breather than I originally thought. So my question is this, would it be worth it to buy a new intake, a catch can, and getting my hemifever tune adjusted? It will put me $1,000 in the hole between the cost of the Vararam, a new intake, a catch can, and a retune.

The catch can goes on the PCV line on the passenger side of the motor, so it doesn't have anything to do with the breather filter that comes with the Vararam. I see no reason to get rid of the Vararam. Just add a catch can to your current setup.

Yeah I understand that the pcv valve is still plumbed in and that I can put a catch can on that side. Sorry I should've been more clear in my question. I was referring to the line running from the drivers side to the intake tube. I was under the impression that having that line was more beneficial than a breather in maintaining proper vacuum and pressure, and that you can run a catch can there as well. Or am I just all sorts of turned around right now lol?

I think you are just all sorts of turned around right now...haha. There is nothing wrong with running the breather filter that comes with the Vararam. I use the same style filter on the Ram that we race, and it runs extremely strong without any issues.

Just toss a catch can on with your Vararam, and leave the breather filter as it is. You don't have anything to worry about.

I think you are thinking about it way to much, put a tuner on it and forget about the rest.

I have a vararam and catch can. Install went easy the pcv breather goes in the 45*

Also don't forget to change the breather if you are on dirt roads alot. I was in North Dakota for awhile and the red clay dust had soaked all into the breather
