Should I throw it on?

In my quest to replace my leaking non-check valve tranny line, autozone could only get the check-valve line and now I'm stuck with the new check-valve line(the line that isn't leaking).

So long story short I'm just going to cut out the flexible leaking part on the non-check-valve line and replace it with a new generic hydrologic line and clamps. But my question is: should I replace check valve line with the new check valve line that I got from autozone since I already have it? Or since it's not broken or leaking, just leave it as is and return it to autozone?

After reading the delete check valve mod, im not sure if I want to do that since I live in a cold climate... so should I throw on the new check valve tranny line in hopes that the new check valve won't get stuck and starve my tranny of fluid like some guys on here have had issues with?

Thanks guys you're a big help!

Fun thing about the check valve is that it clogs up. It doesn't effect the transmission's ability to warm up, only bypassing the radiator cooler will.

I didnt bother explaining what the check valve does because i already wrote a novel on my first post...

but my question is basically should I leave the OEM check valve on or replace it with the new check-value line that autozone gave me? My thinking is that the new one will either last longer and potentially not clog up as soon?

i removed my check valve completely

added a trans cooler while i was at it and I live in michigan, cold winters here

as im writing this my phone says its 8 degrees outside

I drove my truck for 2 winters with the valve gone and trans cooler.....trans does take longer to warm up...but im pretty easy on the old girl anyway

Now my truck sits all winter inside, only driven in summer months so i cant comment on longevity, but the 2 winters i drove it i had no issues....just took the trans a long time to warm up

My opinion, get rid of the valve all together...one less thing to worry about..
