I have a 2011 Ram 1500 Quad Cab Big Horn Edition currently. 6,700 miles on her currently.

I've noticed the commercials for the new Laramie and I like it. My truck's worth more then I owe on it by a fair amount, according the kelly blue book anyways, but I know the new car salesman at the local dodge dealer and he'll hook me up with every possible rebate and price cut he can think of.

I could also opt to upgrade to a 2500, but I would likely not be able to get one as loaded as I could in a 1500 and still be able to afford it.

I'm looking to stay no higher then $32k out the door price. I paid $27k out the door for my current 1500 in the fall. Then another option would be to sell the truck altogether and buy another 04 Cobra to have lower payments and save more money.

Poll's coming up soon, what do you guys think I should do?

Do you need a 3/4 ton?

If not I would either stick with your current or upgrade the options.

Yes and no. Me and my dad run a tent rental business and we have a rather large trailer we haul for it. My 1500 doesn't do so well above 40mph because of the coil springs. My dad has a Sierra 2500HD, but he won't be able to do the work much longer as he's getting up there in age, and when his truck is unavailable I have to use mine.

I would prefer not to sacrifice the ride comfort of the coils in the rear, but a 2500 could be the more logical option in the long run, especially if I got into a mega cab.

Is there helper bags of some sort available? if not then the 2500 seems like the logical choice.

If you're going to a Mega Cab then you have no choice but to go 2500 or larger. They don't make them in a 1500 anymore. Even when they did they weren't really a 1500 anyway.

Keep it. It't too new and you would loose money on the deal more then likely.

You must not need a truck that bad if you put sell it and get a cobra? What would you tow with if you got rid of the truck?

I would try for a Mega Cab if I chose to go with a 2500.

Because of how much I got the truck for, it's worth a good deal more then I owe on currently. If I keep it I will be purchasing the lifetime warranty most likely.

If I sold the truck, I'd only be able to tow or move large objects when my dads truck was available. I can tell you that I would be happier with the Cobra though, as would my fiance who wants me to get one again as soon as we can afford it.

Then I would go for the Cobra and save some $$ if you can use your dads truck when you need it.

IMHO, I'd go for the 2500. They're sick nice, you don't have much depreciation on the current truck, sounds like you could use the 2500, and you can afford it. But I'd spring for the cummins. Cause haulin with a hemi in the 2500 just seems wrong lol. MOAR Powerz! = P

that new laramie i think would easily be a $45,000 truck if not more, so you will need a lot of positive equity to stay at or below $32,000

I would get what you want since it's worth more than you owe. But you're gonna have a hard time finding a new laramie for $32,000 unless you have at least $5,000 in value above your loan and can get it discounted. Locally there's some laramies discounted to $37,000 and laramie longhorns for $39,000

I might be a little biased, but I say trade it in and go for a Cummins!

When it comes to using the Chevy, I think it'd just get too frustrating having to constantly be depending on his truck rather than taking your own out whenever you need it.
