Hey everyone. I have a brand new (523 miles) 2018 2500 Bighorn CTD and pulled my trailer this weekend. Trailer weighs 6900 pounds. Had to stop in traffic going uphill due to an accident. When we were finally released to go I put it in gear and gave it a little gas to maintain distance with car in front of me. While adding a little more gas there was a pretty bad shudder which felt like maybe a torque converter slip and then a pretty hard thump like a change in gears. I don't know if this is normal or if the Dodge has a slip system to keep damage from happening but I know this was the first time I have felt this. Just checking to see if anyone else has had this issue.

I assume you have a diesel? Do you run the tow/haul pulling your trailer? If not you should. Yes, sometimes they have a slight shudder at low speeds during acceleration, though I don't think I have ever felt it in my 2011 but I have been running an H&S Mini Maxx with the trans tune since the truck was almost new and never towed with it when it was stock.

My 2014 2500 shuddered from a stop under load to the point I was concerned, but dealer said it was normal. Of course they always say that.....

Doug dna have you had this happen anymore? My truck has about 400 miles on it and I’ve noticed it a little. I think it maybe because it’s brand new but time will tell , any updates?
