The fords are nice trucks no doubt. I just have never been a fan of their engines since they went away from the pushrod v8s. From the modular engines to present not a big fan, but that coyote is decent. I'm not brand loyal as I used to be, but I have my preferred brands.

Not a fan of V6s in full size trucks, turbo or not. Ford's have rust issues with their suspension components and frames, at least they did, not sure about the newest ones.

Pretty suprised though you couldn't get a better deal on a ram. Fords were 10k more when I was looking for less of a truck option wise.

Good luck with it.

Speaking of Ford rust issues, here's an article from March of this year about rust on new trucks ...

That’s pretty much the norm for the F150, I bought two of them new(1992,2013) and they were both extremely rusty underneath to the point of they looked like rust belt trucks right from the get go. Never had that problem on a Dodge, Ram or GM truck. I would just spray them down with a good rust inhibitor and a little black Rustoleum and keep on truckin’.

With truck re-sale prices being sky high, I regretfully decided to sell it:

IMG_1514-X4.jpg

Over 80,000 miles and 1 set of brakes and 1 set of tires, AND THAT'S IT. This photo was taken last week with 87,500 miles on it, and it still ran and looked like a new truck (and that's in the Northeast road salt region). The new owner was as pleased as punch to get. Sold it for $6,000 less than I paid for it over 5 years ago. And people say Rams are POS, to that I say NOT!!!

This is a reply to trailrider. I'm glad you like your new F150, but it's pretty dificult to make a comparison between a 2015 tradesman and your 2021 Ford. First thing I noticed is that your Ford has dual power seats and I don't think the tradesman even offers that. If you're going to do a fair comparison consider looking at the Ram Limited or a Laramie which has dual power seats as standard and then take a ride in one of those and make a comparison. I purchased a 2020 Limited with the Ecodiesel, multifunction tailgate as the only options and found the MSRP on it about $10K less than a comparable F150. The ride is outstanding, the interior is extremely quiet and there is a reason the Ram was voted by many publications the Pickup of the Year 2 years in a row.

Well, my all black Ram 1500 was all black 2015 Outdoorsman crew cab with the following features:

- 5.7 Hemi
- 3.92 Limited Slip
- 7.2"? UI with Uconnect
- Heated Seats and Heated Steering Wheel
- Power driver's seat and center console
- Power rear slider

In all fairness, the Ford is a new 2021 and we are comparing it to the 4th generation Ram which initially came out in 2009. So far my observations are:

- The lighter truck with 5.0 V8 with a 3.73 axle ratio feels faster than my old Ram
- The Ford ride and quietness of the cabin feels more luxurious, this can be partially attributed to the tires. I will say the Ram's rear suspension is better on railroad tracks, but not much better.
- The Ford UI is HUGE and somewhat complex, UConnect seemed easier to use.
- The drive modes and rear electronic locker are awesome on the Ford
- Dual power seats are nice at this trim level and the seats seem better
- My dog and I really like the large flat floor
- I will miss the heated steering wheel in the Ram

I never compared my new F150 to a Tradesman, so I am not sure where you got that from.

Read my posts, I never said anything bad about my Ram or anyone's Ram. In fact, I looked hard for a Ram FIRST at the F150 price point, and at this particular time, I couldn't find a comparably equipped Ram at about the same price. And I am sure that 6 months ago, when their was a better supply of Rams, better deals could be had. But I was looking from a truck NOW. And I do not possess a flux capacitor.

I regretfully decided to sell it ....

I looked hard for a 2021 Ram 1500 but Stellantis had like ZERO deals for them. So I ended up with a F150.

With all the hype about MSRP, etc. How about leasing? I was considering lease a RAM 2500 for towing. What say all?

You’re probably going to pay top dollar for it regardless of brand. I would probably wait unless it’s an absolute necessity or you’re made out of money or plain ole just don’t GAF like me……….

I spend money like a drunken sailor anyway because I’m not guaranteed 5 minutes from now. Have a good job and the house is paid for so why not……..
To each his own.

Over the years, I have found out that not paying a banker interest and not having payments frees up more cash for fun. But that is my personal choice.

Agreed...I love my ram, but Ford builds a heck of a good truck also. All 3 of the big 3, Toyota and even the Nissan titan isn't bad.and the titan XD has over 2k lbs of payload and can be had with a Cummins.

The days of junk being produced are over for the most part. Any of em can make a lemon occasionally..but they.are all decent.

Quite frankly, if I didn't want an hd truck, I'd seriously consider a tundra. They are stone reliable, with the 4.30 rear pull hard and still hold their value about the best of any. Their fuel mileage is not the best,,but beyond that...they are good. Their payload is low though

I would never ever lease and the more money you have to spend the less sense it makes and if you are into making modifications and putting on miles it makes even less sense, but it is your money so if you think it works for you who cares what others think.

My neighbor had a Tundra and it was reliable and had great re-sale. But it rode like crap and was thirsty.
I test drove a new Tundra and it was kind of cool for the first 5 minutes and then it was boring for the remainder of the test drive. life is too short for something like that .

Toyota's have the worst MPG, the worst Payload, and the worst towing gear. The Ram ZF 8 speed combined with the 3.21 has a better first gear (higher number, better for pulling from a stop) than the Toyota with the 4.30, and a lower final gear (better for unloaded MPG runs).

I would never consider a used/current Tundra. But when they finally get around to updating to the current century I'd definitely give them a look, but sadly it looks like their v8 is done. Deal breaker.

About $6,700 off of MSRP, that includes $3,000 in rebates plus Ford's X-Plan supplier pricing which a lot of my local dealers are no longer honoring.

I was TOTALLY OK with getting a another Ram, but Ram / Ram dealers were just not offering any deals.

My employer supplies the Big Three and based on product going out our door to Ram, I know that Ram's demand is high right now.

I will say that this 2021 F150 feels faster and more luxurious than my 4th Generation Ram, but it is a lot newer.

Also, my 2015 Ram went to my cousin's husband who is a die hard "Dodge" guy and he was thrilled to get it.
