fc746b2218ef6d7657b318938668439f.jpg If money is your main concern, then I say you did ok. There is a reason Ford sells more trucks....there is also a reason Ram has been #1 the past 3 years. I paid the same as my buddy for my Ram hemi vs his F-150. His was new in 2012, mine was 6 years old w/95k on her in 2019. Drive and compare the alum vs steel body.

My neighbor had a Tundra and it was reliable and had great re-sale. But it rode like crap and was thirsty.

Yes sir..those are fair statements. Pros and cons like all of them have. We are lucky to have so many good choices.

First world problems.

Toyota's have the worst MPG, the worst Payload, and the worst towing gear. The Ram ZF 8 speed combined with the 3.21 has a better first gear (higher number, better for pulling from a stop) than the Toyota with the 4.30, and a lower final gear (better for unloaded MPG runs).

I would never consider a used/current Tundra. But when they finally get around to updating to the current century I'd definitely give them a look, but sadly it looks like their v8 is done. Deal breaker.

Fair enough, i didn't know their V8 was being discontinued. That's sad. However the tundra can pull the space shuttle, so how much more do we need, right? Hahahaha lol!

Ford eh,
Well don't let the door hit you in the a** on the way out.
Come on man. I bought a Ford after years owning a Ram. I still love this place because the people who post here are great and we at least have common interest in trucks. Content should stay Ram for the most part but that doesn’t mean us traitors can’t stick around.

With all the hype about MSRP, etc. How about leasing? I was considering lease a RAM 2500 for towing. What say all?

I’m leasing my power wagon. If I financed my payments would’ve been more than $800 and that was for 84 months.

Got the lease for $650 a month, I have the option to keep it or let them have it back at the end of the lease. In all honesty most of us don’t keep a truck for more that 5 years so really I think a lease it the way to go. You pay the depreciation and walk away, or buy if you want.
Really was the most logical thing for me. If you plan on keeping it forever then obviously buying is the way to go.

I guess I’ll never understand this attitude people have. Yes, I get this is a Ram forum, but what is the reason to make snide remarks about someone because they chose a different brand? I expect that behavior from punk kids, not grown ass men.

With truck re-sale prices being sky high, I regretfully decided to sell it:

IMG_1514-X4.jpg

Over 80,000 miles and 1 set of brakes and 1 set of tires, AND THAT'S IT. This photo was taken last week with 87,500 miles on it, and it still ran and looked like a new truck (and that's in the Northeast road salt region). The new owner was as pleased as punch to get. Sold it for $6,000 less than I paid for it over 5 years ago. And people say Rams are POS, to that I say NOT!!!
what rims are those???????

The original poster (me) said nothing but good about his Ram 1500 experience and there are many regulars, on this forum, that don't share that same opinion.

Again, if I could have found a comparable deal AT THIS TIME on a Ram 1500, I probably would have bought another one.

I am not brand loyal, so who knows what brand I will buy next.

It’s crazy for me because I couldn’t get the Ford dealer to do anything but I went to the ram dealer and got mine 5k under nada retail.

No worries Sir. The overwhelming majority will always welcome you here so long as you don't lose the respectful, considerate attitude you clearly have.

Regardless of brand preference, anyone with those attributes are welcome here. At least that's my opinion.

This is a great forum. My favorite of all I visit. That's directly related to the great members we have here.

Because you said it, "this is a Ram forum"

I come on here to read about Ram, not BS from blue oval Kool-Aide drinkers.
Stop wasting space here patting yourself on the back for your Ford that you overpaid for.
So, this ain’t my thread and I didn’t buy a Ford. How bout realize who you’re replying to and try to grow up a bit?

When I bought my 2015 Ram in 2016, it was about $9,000 cheaper than a comparably equipped F150.

Oh, how the tables have turned.
Mine was similar. I paid $32k for my 17 ram. A comparable F150 was north of $40k, and a comparable GMC was $45k’ish.

I had a Silverado in 2016, hated the thing surprisingly, always had a clunk in my driveshaft and everyone I knew that owned one had the same thing. So it was between Ford and ram for me and I ended up with the ram. Don’t regret it one bit so far.

Yeah, GM half-ton quality has been on a downward slide for the last decade, whereas Ram quality seems to be steadily improving.

Although, I think the Trail Bosses look cool.

You sound a bit insecure. Don’t read threads that don’t interest you.

Slightly off topic, but now Ford dealers around me are selling brand new F150s for $5,000 USD over MSRP and used F150s for more than the original new MSRP. Crazy times!!!
