Good Lord. How does that engine suck so much gas. Pretty bad when it makes a 6.4 HD owner raise their eyebrow at gas mileage.

Dodge likes to wow the crowds when they talk about how a Hellcat can burn a full tank of fuel at WOT in a few mins. Well watch out Dodge, the Tundra also exists… lol

Yeah, it's not a few minutes tho, it's 11 min or so............................:driver:

Kinda off topic, but I have a Yamaha FX SVHO Waverunner and that baby burns 21 gallons per hour at WOT... The tank is 18 gallons so it can limit your ride if you're a throttle jockey that's for sure.

Boats are different.,..no transmission to change speeds.

My boat gets an ave of 5.5-6 mpg overall....that includes <3 @ 75 mph and 8 @ 40 mph

FYI, that's 25+ gph @ 75, with a 44 gal tank.

...and @ 5800 rpm since it is direct drive......

I doubt it. Cruises 75 at 1900 rpms

Interesting... I got this from the Toyota forums

5.7 with tow package is 4.30, without is 4.10
4.6 with tow package is 4.10, 3.90 without

My 2007 Ram 1500 4.7 Quad Cab w/3.92s got about 13MPG empty and towing my 3500lb 14x7 enclosed trailer I got 8MPG from Pittsburgh to Indianapolis. It stayed in 3rd gear almost the whole way running about 3000 RPMs.
My current truck (2013 Ram Hemi 3.55's w6 spd) gets about 14 empty and pulling our 8000lb boat it gets about 9.5 MPG.

On another note, speaking of boats, we just sold our 1986 Sundancer 250 but it got about 1.5-2 MPG. At cruising speed it burned about 11 gallons per hour. Wide open probably about 25 GPH but I never ran it full throttle too long

I'm surprised anyone's surprised. A 6-speed with a 4.30 pulling is going to spend a lot of time in 4th maybe 5th gear right when towing? At least with the 8-speed you get some room for the trans to create some mileage. The Toy I've rode in did get rough mileage but that rear end really got it moving and it handled very well towing (we were pulling about 7K). The seats were fantastic and it was quiet, they build a great truck, it's just dated.
