Someone at dealership dented my truck and deleted the video.

Glad it got fixed, but curious as hell as to what is on those videos!

I don't even care anymore they're going above and beyond to satisfy me. I'm sure they found out who did it and saw that I wasn't lying. I'm sure the responsible person is fired

You don't get to do that! We care! Reading this is like all of my worst fears for George RR Martin are coming true...

Well at least you got it fixed. Sounds like the video was tampered with and the employee didn't bother to do the right thing off the get go and waited for you to see it yourself and take action if you wished to do so. No major confrontation that went up the corporate ladder and put his integrity/job in question.

Or, it could have been the guy parked next to you, which still wouldn't explain missing video..

I would make sure about a warranty on the repair work. my dad has been in auto body for 39 years and they have had to fix a lot of PDR work due to paint de-laminating and falling off

I'm glad they fixed it for you! I would have been pissed about them deleting the video though. That's crossing a line

I brought my truck to the dealership for the first time after owning my 2015 Ram for a year. They had the truck over night and the next day I came to pick it up, there was a dent in my bumper. The clerk didn't even bat an eyelid at me when I told him of the damage. He automatically sent me to their in house body shop to schedule an appointment. It was a great feeling knowing I didn't have to argue about the dent and scratch being there prior to dropping it off at the dealership.

I didn't see it posted but what type of camera, where is it mounted and where does it take video of for it to get a shot of the dented area to,prove t happened there. Or were you just wanting video of the guy sitting in the seat may have been responsible for deleting the video? How would the camera have proved anything?

had a similar issue with my new truck and a dent in the rear passenger door. only thing with mine was that it was a brand new truck.. the dealership was very quick to get me to their PDR guy and have everything corrected but it does go to show that no one is honest until you call them out. glad everything worked out for you!

You'd at least have possible proof it happened at their lot, and you might catch whether or not it was another vehicle that hit it, or if it was an employee. You're not likely going to see exactly what happened but you might be able to hear it. Start putting enough pieces together and you build your case.

In the end, it didn't matter. Someone took the camera down, and deleted the videos because they knew they were in the wrong in some form or another. That's proof enough of wrongdoing, the dealership knew it, and that's why they fixed his truck.

This is a civil burden of proof. All he needs is a preponderance of the evidence to win in court. I'd say he tipped the scale with the deletion of video.
