Got around to installing it this afternoon. Quick and easy plug and play setup. Didn't do a cvi reset like I wanted but after talking around a nice long drive with light to medium shifts allows it to learn the new pressures as well.

First impression, the shifts feel a good bit firmer and quicker at part throttle and light shifting. Had one instance where it felt like it held first a little to long and the shift to second when it finally shifted was a hard one. Overall though it feels better minus that one occurance. Will see how it goes for the next week when I can let it learn a bit more and get some wot shifts in. Temps are about the same too, hovering right around 157*, again going to have to see how things go this next week, going to keep an eye on the temps.

So far it is feeling really good and the temps are staying where they usually are this time of year. But trust me I am keeping an eye on EVERYTHING that has to deal with the trans right now and if it starts acting off its being removed. That being said, I like it

Drove around 120 miles today for work, temps were still the same, and everything felt really good at all speeds.

Sounds good bud, that plug and play has always made me think about it. I have the cut wires and soddered resistor per the Transgo kit.

I want to go with a stage II valve body over the transgo kit, but yeah the cutting and splicing of wires leading to the trans has always given me chills.

The new valve body is around what 800 now? I wish they went into detail of what they actualy did to it because its not alot of moving parts in there. Im guessing they CNC the ports wider???

if i get some extra time ill go out to my garage and take apart the stage II and the stock VBs i have, see if i notice any difference. when installed though, i DEFINITELY noticed a difference with the stage II.

edit: i do know off hand that a stage II VB also uses the transgo HD2 kit.

Yeah they use the HD2 kit but I am pretty sure they go through and beef up more items than the HD2 kit does with better/stronger parts.

That would be cool to see if its a noticable difference in milling or something. Your using a modified stage 2 now right in the Sharadon tranny?

right now i am using a stock VB with HD2. stage II will be going in with the new tranny once i finally get around to installing it. took out the stage II because of the shuddering issues i was having. still having them, but cant tell as much because the shifts are so much softer with the stock VB.

Update

So after about a week of driving with it installed I am not sure what to think..... From the time I installed it to Wednesday morning, you could absolutely tell that it was there, you could feel every shift, everything felt firmer and really quite nice. On my way to work yesterday it was still feeling like that, got it loaded up my equipment and headed out. Driving out on the freeway I got stuck behind one slow ass driver and a convoy of 16 landscaping trucks & trailers in the lane next to me with my exit coming up. With no way to merge over I moved to the left and hit the gas fairly agressively going around 50mph (speed limit was 65), it shifted fine ran hard passed the guy in front of me and got in front of the long line of landscaping trucks to get onto my exit.

After that run though, it does not feel the same anymore which has me worried a little. I know longer get that firm shift feeling, it is relatively smooth in fact, I have no CEL's Temps are all in the green, fluid is bright pink and at the right level but it just doesnt feel right. Like it went from feeling really agressive (even before the sonnax it felt a little more agressive than it does now) to now really mellow and in gear my rpms are sitting higher than they usually do by about 1-200rpm. I dont want to think that I lost a gear or something, but if that were to have happened would it throw a CEL? Or if the converter isnt locking up right or acting right would that throw a CEL?

I can still leave a 30ft patch of rubber if I punch it from a dead stop and it doesnt necessarily fee like I lost power, its just that the shifts dont feel like they use to. I am wondering if it took that final push after the few days of driving it with light to medium throttle for it to learn the new presures and maybe thats it. I dont really know at this point.

My first thought is that the pcm learned the new pressure. Try a pcm reset to test it out. If not, I dunno.

Thinking the PCM is adjusting back down. My truck hits gears hard after a reset then they get stock feeling after bout 400 miles. My 2nd to 3rd shift will be hard sometimes and 3rd to 4th will hit good, 1 to 2nd has always been farly quick far as leaving it in D for the computer to do everything. I think these trucks have their own mind because at random it will kick back in and run hard then go back to semi stock feeling.

I reloaded the tune this morning to reset and reload everything and they still don't feel as firm as what it did, back to about where it was presonnax but a little smoother 1-2 shift than it was. It was just odd that it went from a hard shift before that point and super smooth after
