Sorry about this...oil plug torque spec please

I just bought a Chiltons and it does not say what it is...Its a 2008 5.7 Hemi motor...I have the torque wrench so i though I should use it! ;) Garth

Yup just snug it , no TQ . You dont want to strip it .

Well...Now I am confused...i thought that was the reason to torque it so you dont strip it...:imo:

If you are just changing the oil , clean the plug , hand thread it in and snug it down . I have never TQ'd it down anytime I have changed the oil . If i were to guess I would say 25-30 FT pounds . But like I said most guys just snug it with a wrench and give it a good shot of elbow grease to finalize it .

Hey Garth , I hope you put in synthetic oil in her . The Hemi loves that . And since it has low miles now is the best time to use it .

Go out and buy a Fumoto oil valve and never worry about it again.
